My philosophy is simple…have fun, get creative and be yourself.
I was originally born a Hoosier from the state of Indiana where I went to Purdue University to study Elementary Education and met my husband. I began teaching in the Cincinnati area soon after we were married in 1996. My teaching career ended when my son, Jacob, was born and 17 months later my daughter, Emily was born.
I can't remember a time that photography wasn't a part of my life. I have been taking pictures with a camera for over 28 years. In high school, I was grand champion in the Indiana State Fair with my black and white photograph entry. Black and white photography and the simplicity of a portrait is where my passion for photography began. Through college and my adult life I have preferred to be behind the camera, instead of in front of it.
I love people. Listening and getting to know my clients is the best way for me to create a relaxed environment that captures the most beautiful photos. Building trust with my client is so important so that they understand that my directions that will lead to amazing photos. Your portrait session is all about you and I want you to enjoy every moment.
Recently I have expanded my photography knowledge by taking classes by Jim Brockman, and enrolled in several online educational courses specializing in lighting. I am a member of PPSO (Professional photographers of southwest Ohio) and FOCUS (Crossroads church photography group). I have participated in many philanthropic events such as 3 years with Mason School Foundation Gala, Kindervelt, and City Link Holiday Portraits. I plan to take on a leadership role with Crossroads Focus and lead the Mason area in photography needs.
I specialize in senior portraits and sports photography. I enjoy taking photos of children and families. Most recently I added event photography as a service I provide. Thanks for taking the time to meet me, I look forward to meeting you.
